What is the best Ph for HOCL?
The highest concentration of HOCL in solution is in the Ph range between 4.5 and 7
Can I use HOCL on furniture?
Yes, absolutely, but make sure it doesn't cause any damage to furniture, so we recommend testing on a spot that is not visible from normal view
Can I use HOCL on skin?
Yes, but make sure you are in the Ph range between 4.5 and 5.8, but consult your own physician to confirm!
Can HOCL cause corrosion on metals?
Yes it can, any strong oxidant will react with metal, we recommend you using caution and not use higher ppm than necessary.
What is the shelf life of HOCL?
HOCL produced by the Eco One is stable for 2-3 weeks if it is stored in a closed container in a cool location outside of sunlight. However, we do recommend buying our test paper to make sure you have the right efficacy for the job
Can I use HOCL directly on food?
Yes, the majority of the research on hypochlorous acid has been for using hypochlorous acid directly on food. The FDA Food Contact Notification 1811 allows for hypochlorous acid to be used on raw or processed fruits & vegetables, fish & seafood, meat, poultry and shell eggs at up to 60 ppm.
When used on food, does it require a post rinse?
Hypochlorous acid does not require a post-rinse when sanitizing food at or below 60 ppm.
How much does it cost to make 1 liter of HOCL?
If you already have the Eco One system, it will cost you somewhere between $0.08 and $0.15, depending on your cost of electricity, water and salt
